Amp’d Mobile CEO Peter Adderton and Co. may be preparing to join WiMAX ISP Clearwire

By Will Park on Sunday, August 12th, 2007 at 4:02 PM PST In Content, Mobile Web, Rumors, Sprint

AmpPeter Adderton, former CEO of defunct MVNO Amp’d Mobile is reportedly making plans to jump ship and catch a ride on Clearwire. Although Adderton denies such rumors, MocoNews has reliable sources saying that the once-CEO and his executive content team (Amp’d Live) are making preparations to hook up with Clearwire – the WiMAX ISP that recently inked a deal with Sprint (NYSE: S) to rollout a nationwide WiMAX network.

It’s interesting to note to that Clearwire showed interest in buying Amp’d before the Chapter 11 filling. And, with Adderton and his content team heading to a company with no content initiative, we’re hearing speculation that the Amp’d Live team will be trying to replicate their Amp’d dreams through Clearwire’s WiMAX network.

Apparently, pile-driving Amp’d Mobile into the ground didn’t hurt Mr. Adderton’s prospects for future employment. You go, Pete!

Thanks for the info. I’ll be sure to steer clear of Clearwire, as Adderton is a LOSER ON WHEELS!

  2. Ryan says:

Make that LOSER from Hell. Next, he’ll bankrupt Clearwire.
