iphone Thumb surgery was a hoax

So, if you’ve been paying attention to the blogosphere this past week, you may have noticed a little story about a Denver man that had his thumbs surgically altered to make using his iPhone easier. The key word here is “story” – because that’s all this was, one big hoax.

If you fell for it, that’s okay, almost the entire blogosphere did too. In an age where linking to an article amounts to a wildfire spreading through dry brush, it’s not hard to see how a story as sensational as this made it as “real” news. North Denver News, the original source of the report, admitted to the goof – but many others have not.
