Sony Ericsson P1i vs P990i photos

While we already know Sony Ericsson P1i is a much better device than its predecessor – P990i, you may want to see in pictures how they stack against each other. While the P990i is bigger and bulkier, it has a larger screen — 2.8″ vs 2.6″ of the P1i. But there’s where all the advantages of the earlier model end. The P1i has a better camera, more RAM, and is smaller – thus easier to carry around. Of course, both devices run UIQ 3 on top of Symbian OS.
If you want a Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard, my advice is not to pay less for the P990i. Get more money and grab the P1i — you won’t regret for a second!

I HAVE BOTH THE P990I WHICH I PURCHASED IN 07 AND THE P1I I PURCHASED IN JULY 08 AND ALTHOUGH THE P1I IS MORE ADVANCED I LOVE THE FLIP ON THE P990I AS ITS A LOT EASIER TO DO TEXT MESSAGES (ALTHOUGH MY FLIP HAS NOW FAILED AND NO BUTTONS WORK ANYMORE SO I HAVE REMOVED IT)
ALL IN ALL I WOULD RECCOMEND EITHER OF THESE PHONES BUT IF YOUR A TEXTER MORE THAN A CALLER I WOULD SAY THE P990I IS BEST SUITED……
I just bought a sparingly used (very good, like new condition) p990i. It cost me only 200 us$ and came with a 1 gb mem. The seller had upgraded to p1 i. This is my second pda phone, the first being htc p3400, which was good but not quite.
The most pleasing thing about p990i is the excellent screen. The best i have seen. The phone itself is not too big, not too small kind. The sound is clear. Lot of useful features. I wanted unlimited phone contacts and unlimited call register for my busines. i got both. a good camera too. Further it is quite a stylish phone, and has this sophisticated look.
On the minus side, the battery seems to run out fast. Hardly a day. I have bought another new original battery for 10 us $. Perhaps it is an old battery. I havent tried the new one. i could not find a voice recording while calling someone option. That is the most important missing element in this phone as far as i am concerned. its a bit difficult to operate the camera. missing the nokia simplicity here.
all in all a good phone. but i still miss nokia’s simplicity and might go for a e51, which does practically everything that i need. the only minus that i find of that phone is its high sar value (radiation) – just within the legal limit. 1.4 w. The maximum is 2.0 i suppose. p990, has sar of of 0.5 only. Then again, i read an article by an Ericsson scientist that there is no need to compare sars as within the legal limit it does not make any difference. 0.6 and 1.4 or whatever doesnt make any practical difference, he argues. That the rate is one 50th time the amount that has caused problems in research animals. But still, I care of numbers.
I think the P1i looks like a calculator…
Ok sana p990i. pero after a long days natatangalan yung mga style sa housing!! Kaya mas maganda p1i kase mas matibay sya all-in-all!
