Unlocked Apple iPhones working in Hong Kong with non-AT&T SIM cards?

Could this be the first truly unlocked Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone? We can’t say for sure, but what we do know is that an unlocked iPhone is reported to be available in Hong Kong – and allegedly works with non-AT&T (NYSE: T) SIM cards on Hong Kong’s HK CSL wireless network. It looks like incoming and outgoing calls are 100% functional, as are the SMS texts and EDGE data connection. What we don’t know is how the iPhone handles Visual VoiceMail (we suspect that Visual Voicemail is a no-go) and the SIM card.
But, like all things new and hip, and unlocked Hong Kong iPhone will cost ya – about $2,000 to be more specific (the unlocking service will run $750, but you will need your own iPhone).
Now, all we have to go on are these pics that could quite easily be fake, so we’re going to wait to see if this really is the first instance of an iPhone “Holy Grail” – a fully unlocked Apple iPhone. For all we know, these guys could be charging $750 to create a SuperSIM or TurboSIM for you.

here in belarus we’re using iPhone without any restrictions for some time. it costs about $1000 here

I’ve already stated on my blog that the iPhone will be available unlocked in lebanon around end october, so i won’t be surprised to know that it is already available unlocked in other countries, since usually all electronics and phones come to lebanon a couple of months late.
In my country I have not heard about it may be my information outdated
I’m sure this is old news now, but I have an unlocked iphone, also using it on the CSL Hong Kong network. I don’t use the internet facilities though as CSL data costs are too expensive. I haven’t upgraded my iphone to version 1.1.1 though as it seems it was cleverly blocks alot of hacks used to unlock the iphone.
I love it, works great with SMS/ phone calls etc on the hong kong network. I paid no extra to have it unlocked, standard iphone price & the fellow kindly unlocked it for me.
Does anyone know if you will be able to use an unlocked iphone like a regular one………..insert different sim cards when you travel abroad?
I buy last week HK 16Gb iphone.
it was work nice one day in HK simm. then I went to china and replace my Chinese simm (what work in all around. ) phone lock my simm after one day.
then I go back to HK and put CSL card inside.
Today it lock all card anyone can not use.
So DO NOT BUY iphone from Hong Kong, Apple locks it very fast when you gou update software from net.
I do not want use some programs to open lock or some manipulate, as really want original and working phone this was not that, again shit. Last apple what i buy.
Anyway there have more problem in iphone, with emails come multiple and edge not work as must (nokia E90 better), as many times cake is beauty outside, inside is shit… and one more shit

we’re using unlocked iPhones here in the Philippines. we upgraded them from V112 to V113. we get our songs from iTunes or limewire or any where. I guess, Filipinos make it better than y’all !! LMFAO
