Apple CAN update iPhones remotely!

Apple CAN update iPhones remotelyLadies and gentlemen we have it confirmed — Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) can trigger iPhone updates remotely (Knowledge Base article #306272). Natural question is – will this bring an end to the updates via iTunes? I don’t think so. It doesn’t sound logical that Apple would want its users to rely on EDGE connection to update their iPhones. Rather, Apple may use this feature for some small tweaks like the addition of “Send to Web Gallery” button.

It’s also interesting to note how remote updates can basically kill all the iPhone unlocking schemes. As soon as the new trick for unlocking the device is revealed, Apple can issue an update that could block the iPhone or at least put it back to the original settings.

Let’s look at the brighter side – Apple may add search or some other feature without notifying us. The Christmas is still few months away, yet I can easily imagine many iPhone users adding stuff on the Wishlist hoping that Jobs&Co will notice it and remotely update iPhones… :)

Rather suspicious to me.. I would not want MY device to be updated without my concent.. I assume they would at least require you to authorize it each time?
