Sprint get’s touched by HTC – Sprint Touch

With AT&T (NYSE: T) and their iPhone putting the squeeze on other carriers’ subscriber base, it makes sense for them to scramble for the next-best iPhone alternative. As of now, the coolest touchscreen competitor in The States is the HTC Touch (and it’s CDMA brother, the HTC Vogue). And, it looks like Sprint (NYSE: S) wants in on the TouchFLO game. The CDMA Touch (again, the HTC Vogue) has been confirmed on the Sprint network as the appropriately named Sprint Touch.As expected, the Sprint Touch will be rocking the same 400Mhz processor, 2.8 inch screen, quad-band GSM radio with EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD slot, and 2 MP shooter as all the other “Touches” in the world. But, Sprint has decided to make some proprietary changes to the TouchFLO interface. The TouchFLO cube will sacrifice one of it’s “faces” for a Sprint Software Store – weak. But, the improved keyboard and upgradeable EVDO (to Rev. .. i love it. However i have a lil problem that just occured. Maybe i dont know how to do it. I was playing with sprint tv and after i got done the screen got stuck the other way and i dont know how to get it back to normal.

who all on the forum like the sprint touch. cuz i love mind, but guess wat i did. i was deleting a program that i didnt want and deleted my sprint tv, so now i gotta got to sprint and le them put back on. make it so bad it ask me twice did i wan to delete this program, being all fast a cocky and no payin attention, i deleted it. go ahead and laugh, i deserve it. unless sum knows how to get it back on there without takin it to sprint.
BeBe to fix the screen back to portrait click on the launcher and it’s the 4th icon from the left on the top row.. .it has a double arrow with the touch in the vertical position…

Ok back with more problems and questions.
My contacts. How do i transfer them from my Blackberry 7100i to the Touch ? I tryied everything. Customer service said they cant do it. Sprint stores say they dont have the software. My ActiveSync instalation didnt work on the PC , it said some DLL is corupt and cant install it. The last lady i talk to in Customer Support ” suggested ” that i should try do it ” manually ” hahahaha. Thats the last thing i wanna do.
Any tips on this ???
My messengers. I installed the triple messenger service : AOL MSN YAHOO . I use Yahoo messenger everyday on my phone so i need it
. It logs in but it cannot retrive my friends list and gives me : TIMEOUT (code: 504 )

damn it Bebe, to tranfer ya numbers, just bluetooth ya contacts. go to ya bluetooth option and it shud give u the option to tranfer, pics, numbers and sum files. on the messenger thing, y ddint u just use the one that cam with phone, it works fine and it retreives ya friends list i use it all the time.
oh yeah u have to installed the messenger that came with the fone
If u are talking about the IM in the cube , that dosent work neither
. it saz it might not be signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found.
ill try the bluetooth thing and see what ill end up with.

it says the same thing on mine. but i put my messenger in my start menu and it works that way. i dont know why it dont work the otha way. but yea the bluetooth thing shud work, gud luck
this is the order u can take,go into da, start menu, settings, menu,and check instant messenger. and see if that works, let me know. one thing u can only select 7 item to show up int he start menu, so be wisely n wat u choose. ha ha lol
just so yall know i had to hard reset my touch, to get my sprint tv back on it, but hard resetin it, made me download errthing else to, but it help cause i downloaded the new version of live, that lets u speak ya choice, google map 2.0.5, and couple of otha things to, so unlike me, be careful in wat u deleting off ya touch, oh yeah Bebe, did the bluetooth thing work for ya.just thought i wud share that, i holla

. teh yahoo messenger problem is still there… my msn works fine tho. its a tricky lil phone but im sure once u get it its a fun toy.
ohhh… any other way to lock the screen besides the top button ?
to lock the screen it is right next to the screen flip thing in the launcher. i have neva had a blackbery so i really dont know how the bluetooth work on it. but i know on windows type fone, u gotta go into the option of the bluetooth, turn ya blutooth on, on ya touch by goin into the comm manager, menu, and hit the mode tab at the bottom and making it visible to other devices, but on the blackberry u might wanna get the manual out,. on the messenger did u try my menthod i text previously.

I’m having the same issue with Yahoo messenger. AIM and MSN work fine, but Yahoo won’t load up the contacts. It’s logging into the service as it is logging me out of my other machine (happens when you log in from another location), but then getting the same 504 timeout error. Called Sprint and they didn’t know what to do and put in a service ticket on the issue. If anyone knows, would be greatly appreciated.
Still havnt figure out the YIM issue but everything else seems to be working greate.
I finally got my contacts in. I went to a service center and after they cussed me for an hour they finally did it lol…….well 90% of my contacts. Some ran away lol.
On another hand.. i found a nice forum for Touch and other PDA’s …. i d/l-ed a bunch of cool stuff from there (4sided cube , nice keyboard….etc )

I love my touch, but I have a couple of questions that I don’t really know where to ask so I’m hoping someone will see/answer them…
1) I downloaded Opera Mini but I CAN’T FIND IT ANYWHERE IN MY PHONE. I don’t know what to doooo; I want to use it, but I can’t find it. So I figured I’d just delete it rather than having it take up space when I’m note even using it, but I can’t even find it to delete it! Help

2) Is there any way to use the full qwerty touch keyboard for texting/writing in word/anything at all? The only time I ever see it pop up is when I am on a screen that I can’t even type on (like a text message I am reading) and as soon as I’m somewhere I CANT type (like replying to a text message) it goes back to the 20 key that I hate. If there is no way to use it, where could I find a third party touch keyboard that is a full qwerty and is easy to use?

I would do a file search for the Opera. It should find it
Start/Program Files / Search and type in Opera and see if it finds it. Another way is to go download it again and pay attention in what location the phone saves it and go there and manually delete it.
The keyboard you can actually change it right from the bottom tab by pressing the little arrow on the left side of the (20) sign
hey as far as the keyboard, go to http://www.google.com type in spb software, click on spbsoftware link, then lick the tab that says “PPC” it will then show a ton of applications find the one that says “Full Screen Keyboard” and download it, I love it! for most PDAs, the only way to send pictures is you have to send it as a email as an attachment. thats how you do it on the 6800.
SPRINTRep THAT IS NOT NECCESSARILY TRUE. SPRINT IS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT I KNOW THATS NOT ABLE TO SEND PICTURES ON A PDA OR POCKET PC PHONE. AND ALSO WIN U SEND THE PIC TO A PDA PR POCKET PC, IT HAS TO GO ONLINE, WHY IS DAT.
IT HAS TO GO ONLINE TO VIEW DA PIC IS WAT I AM SAYING.
That is a pain. Some of the new Sprint PDAs only send picture mail by email. I found out the hard way when I purchased the Moto Q several months ago. I couldn’t stand sending picture mail like that so a few months later I got the Palm Centro. I did my research this time around to make sure it does every thing I want/need. It sends pic mail to cell #s as well as email. Also the threaded chat (groups ur txt msgs together like in a chat room) is a nice feature to have since I text a lot. Sometimes its good to do some research on the phones, read reviews & got to a Sprint store to actually try out the features on the phones. It helps to see what ur getting.
Definitely an interface to check out. Love the look and feel of it with the Touch.

charles you can send pix on pdas and ppcs, you just have to send them via email thats how they are just set up, and to send them via email you have to have the vision package or pic mail/internet… why is that? Its been like that for a while for smartphones, but who gets smartphones without internet package anyway?
i know how to send pics, i was sayin that you cant send them to anutter cell phone, you have to email them. but on the other hand, like a regular cellphone u can send da pic without havin to email them, not errone have a pda or smartphone.

Also, once I added the Sprint server, I deleted the Verizon one. Not sure if it’s necessary, but I did and it works fine for me. Good luck.

ONE QUESTION, DO U HAVE THE TOUCH THRU SPRINT. I FOLLOWED THE DIRECTION AND IT WANT SEND, IT KEEP SAYIN ITS UNABLE TO SEND OR FAIL.
I do have a Touch through Sprint and it works fine for me. You must have missed something.
Also, you can try turning off your capslock. Pretty sure most of us can read lowercase too.

have you tried soft reset so u can free up sum memory. you gotta remember its only a ppc not a laptop. and it you have a lot of programs open it will slow or freeze it. u might wanna set it up so that win u X outta a programs it stops it completely instead of just closing the screen. i hope u undastand want i am tryna say if not let me know.
OZ IM error code 504, I am also getting this error trying to use yahoo messenger, the funny thing is that if I use another account, it worked just fine. Seems like there is no explanation why certain account get this error from OZ IM.

my boyfriend kind of lives at a distance and i want to send him pictures bc i like to keep in touch and well i got the htc touch bc my palm centro was having issues. but my question is how do you send pictures i know its thru email but does anybody have step by step directions because everytime i do it, it never sends and i want to send from the email to a phone so how do i do that to? im sooooo lost and im deffinatly going back to the palm centro it was excellent!!!!!! thx
