Nokia 6263 spotted on FCC pages for T-MobileWith T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) set to launch their highly-anticipated 3G network here in The States, manufacturers are quietly scrambling to get their handsets revised to take advantage of the odd-ball 1700Mhz 3G band that T-Mobile will be using. The latest such iteration is the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 6263 that has been spotted on the FCC website with the glorious T-Mobile 3G frequency (1700Mhz) printed on it’s FCC test pages.

As we mentioned before, the Nokia 6263 will be packin’ a mid-range feature-set. It looks like the 2 megapixel camera and A2DP Bluetooth-toting 6263 will finally be making its way to the US. We can only imagine that the FCC’s green-lighting of the 6263 means that it will be made available as soon as T-Mobile goes live with its 3G service.

More Nokias for US. It’s good.

  2. lutzs says:

Why are the US 3G networks at these crazy frequencies??? All around the globe 2100Mhz ist the default 3G band, only the US carriers are that fool… Any 3G handset would work in the US if they would use the default 3G band: 2100 Mhz.

  3. Al says:

Regular 3G handsets wont work in the US because 2100 Mhz
uses 1900 Mhz for uplink. This conflicts with the 1900 GSM band.

  4. Brian Prows says:

I have the 6263 from T-Mobile and look forward to T-Mobile deploying 3G in the U.S. Known for its excellent customer and technical service, a T-Mobile 3G network will provide additional competition against AT&T, Verizon and Sprint.

  5. Carlos Quintana says:

Beware the Tmobile site is very misleading. Tampa is supposed to have 3g coverage according to Tmobile already, reality is there is no 3g around to be found. Read http://www2.tbo.com/content/2008/oct/20/sp-googles-g1-takes-aim-at-iphone/news-scitech/
Other articles in the newspaper confirmed the fact, no 3G for Tampa, yet Tmob still claims so
