NoNews.com goes mobile

By Dusan Belic on Wednesday, August 29th, 2007 at 5:55 AM PST In Announcements, Content, Services

Yet another content sharing service is going mobile. This time it’s NoNews, which just announced the launch of its mobile site to allow users to share photos, videos, audio clips and text messages with the friends in their channel.

NoNews.com goes mobile

Interesting thing about NoNews service is that it can work with practically any handset that can send and receive text messages — i.e. all mobile phones. All you have to do is send the “good news” MMS to NoNews, and they will take it from there. Naturally, users with better web-enabled phones will have the much better experience and more convenient interface.

Seems like at the end, every single Web 2.0 company will go mobile. What do you say?

  1. Dusan,
It’s my believe that everything will go mobile.
Mainly because mobile devices are getting much better and we are going towards wi-fi enabled world.
Devices are getting smaller and more powerful, look at the current UMDAs, iphone, the miniOne.
In a very near future the whole planet will be wi-fi enabled and we’ll be always connected.

So yes having a mobile presence is the way to go.

Hey, I noticed your post because I’m developing something of a NoNews competitor in my spare time. Thanks for letting me know about them. It’s good to see what other people are doing in this arena.

I’m actually developing the iPhone interface to my site before the web interface because I feel like that is the best way to post micro-news. Nothing interesting is every happening when I’m sitting at my computer, which I imagine accounts for why most tweets are so dull.

Yesterday I posted photos of Critical Mass from my iPhone. I’m pretty proud of that considering I’ve only been coding on it by myself for about a month. Since you seem to be interested in it go check it out for yourself. Just remember, its WAY pre-alpha.
