The day after the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Go Play event I was given a Nokia N95 8GB for a few hours to test. I totally forgot about these images since they were not in my gallery, but instead in my inbox since I sent them to myself via Bluetooth. Either way, check out all the pictures in their full unedited 5 megapixel glory on my Flickr account.

One thing to remember, the device was a prototype! Image quality can and probably will change by the time retail units are out.

  1. Neil says:

Camera phones need image stabilisation… looking at the original size photos you can see that the images suffer from camera shake, which is understandable given how lightweight cameras are.

  2. Geoffg says:

Camera shake is only an issue at slow shutter speeds. The slowest of those pictures was taken at 1/200th of a second (go to Flickr, and look at “more properties” for each photo), which is plenty fast enough to eliminate camera shake. So the evidence seems to me to be against Neil’s assertion of camera shake.
The N95 does have digital image stabilisation in video mode.
