Palm Treo 500v is official, how did our leak stand up?

We got everything right except for the product dimensions. Score. The new Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Treo 500v is a Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) exclusive for now, triband GSM (900/1800/1900) and UMTS on the 2100 MHz band. With a weight of 120 grams and only 16.5 x 61.5 x 110 mm it is wider than the Treo 680, but thinner and shorter and most definitely lighter. It supports microSD cards, even has a miniUSB port and a partly 2 megapixel camera. The 1200 mAh battery should keep this Windows Mobile 6 Standard (no touch screen support) powered device running for 10 days, but I some how doubt that. Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR with support for A2DP is definitely welcome, but the 320 x 240 pixel display with only 65k colors feels a little out dated.
I will hold back my opinions on this device until an unlocked version is available and we know how much that will cost. Vodafone subscribers can purchase this device starting October 1st, price unknown.

A better display with more colors would be useless: Windows Mobile can only handle 65k colors
That isn’t true.
