I went into ATT today to look at the 8820. The display information indicated some sort of service was required to get the GPS working. I asked, and the man told me your first month is free, and you have to pay $10 a month after that. Has anyone purchased one? Is that true?

This particular store is notorious at telling me I'll HAVE TO pay for various extra services if I buy some phones. I'd been looking at the Tilt, and was told I also had to buy a data plan if I got that phone. And I was told that my GSM phone (nokia 6620) I'm still using from the original ATT would quit working soon, that I'd have to buy a new phone, sign a new contract, and pay activation fees.

I do all my business at another ATT Store that's about 3 times the distance away, but the people there are more interested in taking care of the customers. I only go into the one closest to me for information.

Now that I'm properly sidetracked, can anyone that owns the phone verify the GPS issue?
