It’s almost as if MetroPCS (NYSE: PCS) read what acquisition-target Leap Wireless had to say about MetroPCS’s position in the Los Angeles wireless market. The low-cost, flat-rate wireless carrier has gone live with service in the metropolitan Los Angeles, California area.
MetroPCS offers different levels of unlimited wireless calling plans and already has 6 store fronts and 400 wireless resellers working to hock their phones. There are no contracts, and users will get their first month of service for free.
Welcome to the big-time, MetroPCS. We wonder what Leap Wireless has to say about your inability to enter the LA-market. Now, go out and offer Leap Wireless a couple more cents per share - we’re waiting for you to go truly national.
