Along with its groovy Christmas handset collection, Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) is also working to introduce the unlimited music download service with its partner Omnifone. Starting from November, the new service called MusicStation will allow customers to download as much music as they want for as little as $4.02 per week. Four major labels are on board, as well as a number of independents. The best thing about it is that no additional data charges apply for the music downloads.
Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s flagship N95 8GB will be the first phone to support the new service is, but Vodafone also promised to deliver more compatible handsets before the holidays. We’ll see whether they’ll entice users to give-up their iTunes habits…
