Verizon celebrates its 3+ million Chocolates

I guess we wouldn’t see this press release, if Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) haven’t announced its 1 millionth iPhone sold…
Whatever the case is, Verizon (NYSE: VZ) informed us that since its launch last summer, they’ve sold more than 3.4 million LG Chocolate phones. I’ve nothing against LG’s quite solid music phone, but it’s worth nothing how it’s SO MUCH DIFFERENT to sell a million of iPhones and 3.4 million Chocolates. Yeah, the latter sounds more tasteful but is much cheaper and lacks half of the iPhone’s features.
Again, LG Chocolate is a cool device. Especially now when it’s available in variety of colors including Black, Cherry, Mint, Blue Mint, Black Cherry, White, and Strawberry. Too bad it’s a Verizon exclusive… And the same goes for the iPhone, too bad it’s AT&T (NYSE: T) exclusive…

Lets see… the first chocolate was released August 7th 2006, so depending on when they are taking count, thats somewhere between 365 and 400 days. Assuming the better-sales number:
Chocolate: 3.4 million in 365 days = ~9,300 units/day
iPhone: 1 million in 74 days = ~13,500 units/day.
It’s worth noting that Apple said sales had slowed to ~9,000/day before they announced the price drop, when it increased to 27,000/day. Lets say they hold sales at 10k/day for the rest of the year (290 days), that would be about 3.9 million units.
