Apple iPhone bests Nokia N95, HTC Touch in usability study

So, there’s this Texas-based usability consulting firm called Perceptive Sciences. They just released the results of a test that put the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone heads-up with the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N95 and HTC Touch in a usability battle. The winner? Apple iPhone.
The results are sure to rile up the iPhone-haters out there, but the results speak for themselves.
Perceptive Sciences conducted the test with only 10 participants. The subjects had never used the iPhone, N95, or Touch and were asked to make a phone call, set the phone to vibrate, add a number to the contacts list, take a picture, and send an email. Scientists recorded how long it took to complete each task and ranked each trial with a score between 1 and 5.
The iPhone earned a score of 4.6, the HTC Touch nabbed a 3.6, while the Nokia N95 only got a 3.2. Testers were [typically] about twice as fast doing specific tasks on the iPhone, which is pretty remarkable,” said senior research scientist Tom Thornton.
It should be noted that the iPhone trumped the N95 in all categories except “functionality.” With GPS, 3G, and a 5megapixel camera, we’re not surprised.

What farce this study was. For example, they quoted it as taking 4 HOURS to set up Wi-Fi on the N95!!
Also, these were phone virgins, who on earth would go for a Windows Mobile 6 or S60 device as their very first phone, with no idea even how to turn the thing on??
I venture to say that the average HTC Touch or N95 user is upgrading from *something*.
I heard the testers get one iPhone for free to join the “test”
,real stupid test !
This test for sure was biased or may be conducted by some highschool students who knew nothing about smartphones.

The title reads “bests”
Typo ?
the results wer rigged
Can someone tell me how to turn on vibration on this p168? and also how to download music? this really sucks.
Wow,about twice as fast doing specific tasks! Does this mean it will drop calls in half the time the N95 HTC do, or just twice as many?
Nice article,
I can tell you that i have one Iphone one nokia N95 and one Nokia E90 (for my business).
Iphone is a very nice phone very good look but nothing more.
Nokia is for the moment the best producer in the Mobile area and if Apple will take out onother version of the Iphone in the future i hope to be a very good one becouse this one is a phone just for fun and for teenegers.
I wait Apple with something new..
My friend have a Iphone and he is so jealous for my N95 8Gb the best multiemedia phone a man can get this days
sry ofcorse man and women
This kind of studies are very funny.. Of course when you have a device offering 10 tasks only, it’s easier to find a way through it. Now when you try to get the GPS to work on the iPhone, or the videocall, or record videos, you may spend lot of time ^^
I don’t want a shinny but castrated device.
A survey with 10 ppl only?
definetely done by kids
Hahahaha
