Juniper ResearchThis one’s actually not for our U.S. readers — at least not at the moment — but it’s important nevertheless. According to Juniper Research, thanks to the increasing deployment of multiple mobile payment technologies and liberalisation of remote gambling legislation in key markets, mobile gambling wagers will approach $12 billion by 2010. Of that amount, mobile lotteries will lead the pack and will account for $380 million.

Juniper’s report also discovers that the global gross win from mobile gambling services will rise from just $106m in 2007 to $3.2bn in 2012. In addition, it is predicted that while at the moment UK is the largest single market for mobile gambling service, it will be overhauled by the US by 2012.

There you have it. Like it or not, mobile gambling is here to stay…
