Telus adds Samsung U540In case you live in Canada and were looking for an affordable handset, you may want to consider Samsung U540 which just recently landed to Telus (NYSE: TU)’ offering. The Samsung U540 is a SPARK-enabled device, meaning you will be able access Telus’ popular multimedia service. In addition, Samsung’s light clamshell (it weighs just 80 grams) also comes with 1.3 MP camera, two screens (external 96×96 and internal 220×176 pixels), stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), mp3 player and the microSD memory expansion slot.

So, who should buy this device? As I said, this one’s for everyone searching for an affordable clamshell that can also work as an mp3 player. Pair some decent stereo Bluetooth headsets with it (like MOTO ROKR S9), and you’re ready to enjoy your favorite tunes while on the go. On the other hand, if you want more features, keep looking — this device isn’t for you.

Finally the price. Telus is offering the Samsung U540 for $69.99 CAD with a three-year term, or for $249.99 CAD without any contract.
