Orange to offer Amoi 6711 aka AT&T SMT5700 as SPV E610

France Telecom owned Orange is prepping to boost its business-centric offering with yet another Windows Mobile 6 Standard edition based and full QWERTY keyboard equipped smartphone - SPV E610. The new device is actually called Amoi 6711, and is everything but a hot news, hence we’ve already seen it passing the FCC filings and heading over to AT&T as SMT5700. However, it’s interesting that Orange haven’t picked up some 3G-enabled version of the Amoi 6711. After all, most of their networks in the major metro areas — if not all of them — are 3G enabled. Guess, iPhone kinda pushed us back to EDGE. Or that’s just pretty much enough speed for push-email and syncing services, business users are requiring. And let’s not forget the 2 MP camera that is kinda “good enough” for the fellow businesses. We’re not sure about the release date nor pricing, but I guess existing Orange subscribers with solid track record will get this business baby for next to nothing.

This phone is available online at Orange web site, but it’s nowhere found in UK shops. Any idea when it will be available?
Cheers
The SPV E610 has been available since February on PAYG for £99.99 and runs Windows Mobile 5 NOT 6 as stated in the report.
