Nokia inks video content deal with CNN, Sony

Nokia signs deal with CNN Sony to provide mobile video contentIt looks like Nokia (NYSE: NOK) is really pushing their expansion of online mobile services. With their recent announcement of the Navteq buy-out, Nokia is poised to take mobile navigation to a new level. Now, Nokia has announced that they have inked a deal with video content providers like CNN and Sony to bring more content to high-end Nokia devices. In addition to similar deals with YouTube, Google (NSDQ: GOOG), and Reuters, this new deal should help Nokia make their online services a real force in mobile.

“Consumer desire to watch Internet videos on mobile devices is growing all the time and we want to help users discover and access the best content in the simplest way possible,” Harri Mannisto, director at Nokia’s multimedia unit, said on Tuesday.

Mobile navigation, mobile music, mobile video. Nokia seems to be making their move to take on the entire gamut of mobile services.
