Every second mobile phone is made in China

According to the new research by Taiwan-based Market Intelligence Center, more than half of all mobile phones sold worldwide in the second quarter of 2007 were made in China. However, the researches note it’s the GSM and not 3G-enabled phones that dominate the local industry’s output as we still wait to see Chinese government licensing any 3G network. In addition, the report suggests that China should thank its vast electronics manufacturing sector and huge home market for mobile phones for such a large output. And I thought it’s the cheap labor…
