Rogers Wireless launches 3G network in Canada

Canadian wireless carrier Rogers Wireless has just launched their 3G network in Canada (duh). The network rollout will bring HSPA speeds to Rogers’ Vision Voice video calling service in 22 Canadian cities. Rogers’ reference to HSPA gives us reason to believe that Rogers Wireless will be offering high-speed upload speeds as well as high-speed downloads, giving Rogers claim to being the only North American carrier to offer true video calling (2-way video calling).
If you live in the following cities, consider yourself truly mobile. Broadband-like data transfers in the up and downstream? You lucky Canadians.
Rogers Wireless HSPA network coverage:
Greater Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria, Whistler, Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Ottawa/Gatineau, Kingston, Sudbury, Barrie, London, Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph, Windsor, Greater Montreal, Quebec City, Chicoutimi and Trois-Rivières. Rogers Vision is already available in the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton/St. Catharines, Burlington/Oakville
We might have to take Rogers’ HSPA network for a spin this winter in Whistler (although, AT&T’s HSPA network should be live by that time anyway). High-speed snowboarding/skiing and data transfers. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Rogers will probably charge $10 per kilobyte.
I may be an iPhone hater, but the that phone will be the best thing to happen to Canada. Their data rates are ridiculous.
