WebKit-based web browser coming to Windows Mobile

WebKit-based web browser coming to Windows MobileWake3 — a PaloAlto, California based company — is working on a WebKit-based web browser for Windows Mobile devices. Those not familiar should know that it’s the same core behind Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s Safari and Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s S60 Browser. Whoever used one of these knows how to appreciate it — after all the WebKit core is light and delivers the “full web experience” to the mobile devices.

The first version (video follows after the jump) doesn’t seem to support zooming in and out, but the promising future may be around the corner. Pocket Internet Explorer has ruled the Windows Mobile smartphones for too long without offering significant improvements during the year. The WebKit-browser is coming soon and more than ever, we’re ready for it!
