D-Link getting in on WiMAX

D-Link announces future WiMAX plansWiMAX is one of the big next-gen broadband wireless standards in the developing world. Sprint has made a clear commitment to WiMAX and parts of Asia are already on board the WiMAX-train (not to mention the 300 or so manufacturers and vendors working on WiMAX globally). Well, D-Link has announced that they are throwing their hat in the ring too.

According to sources in the “know,” D-Link will be concentrating on both the telecommunications and retail side of the WiMAX rollout. D-Link plans to offer integrated WiMAX, Bluetooth, and WiFi solution – with integration for VoIP and 3G down the line.

We can’t wait to see what WiMAX solutions come from D-Link’s R&D labs, especially those integrated solutions. WiMAX, here we come!
