We’ve already talked about Epocware’s upcoming Handy Calendar application. Well, now it’s here and apparently it’s set to replace the built-in calendar application adding more features and useful views on top of the existing functionality.

Epocware

Highlights:

  • Enhanced views: Month, Week, Day, and Tasks
  • Zooming in views
  • Notes support for all entry types
  • Repeating for entries: Monthly by day, Yearly by day, and Working days
  • “Busy bar” estimates how busy the day is
  • Advanced entry viewing that allows to see all the attributes at once, open URLs, send e-mail or make a phone call
  • All entries can be synced with Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) Outlook

More information is available on Epocware’s site.

Well, nice to see that S60 finally has a calendar with all the features UIQ has had for a long time. The only thing that is wrong with the UIQ calendar is the meeting’s location – the only way to check it out is to (assuming you have the monthly view as a default) click to the day view, scroll (possibly) to the meeting, open it and scroll down to the location item. What a stupid thing! The location should be visible in all views (month, week, day) and in the alarm. A business phone for managers who attend meetings daily and in different meeting rooms, buildings, cities, even countries. WHY on earth the meeting place is not visible in all the possible places!!!
