Samsung U470 Juke coming to Verizon on October 19

Samsung Juke U470 coming to Verizon on October 19Well, it’s official. The swiveling Samsung U470 Jukemusicphone is coming to Verizon on October 19. The No. 2 carrier has announced today that they’ll be bringing the 2GB-packing, stereo Bluetooth compatible, swiveling-screen, musicphone to the masses in a few days.

In case you’ve been living in a cave for the past few weeks, and you haven’t happened to catch the TV commercials for the Samsung Juke, Verizon is really pushing the Juke as a mass-market musicphone with an interesting (to say the least) swiveling-hinge that flicks open 180 degrees (think Helio KickFlip) and 2GB of onboard memory. For $99 (after 2 year contract and rebates, naturally), it really is a pretty hot deal.

Come October 19, you too can get your swivel-on with the Samsung Juke, in your choice of Red, Teal, or Navy Blue.
Press release to follow.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ, and DALLAS — It is sleek, slim and swivels to show off its coolest feature – a music player that supports .mp3, .wma, .aac and .aac+ files. It’s the Juke and it hits Verizon Wireless stores on October 19. Verizon Wireless, owner of the nation’s most reliable wireless voice and data network, and Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung) today announced the Juke joins the line-up of music centric handsets in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com on Friday.

Available in red, teal and navy blue, the Juke’s unique swivel-hinge literally flicks open 180 degrees to reveal the shiny keypad. A navigation thumb wheel allows for easy searching through music play lists, contacts and settings. Stereo Bluetooth® support provides optimal listening for both headsets and separately purchased speakers. In addition, the Juke comes with a matching wired stereo headset and a USB cable in the box.

The Juke’s other features include:

  • Get It Now®-capable – download games, Ringtones, wallpapers, location-based services, and more
  • 2 GB* of internal memory for music
  • Text, picture and Instant Messaging
  • Camera with Nightshot (let’s you make the most of pictures in low-light)
  • Advanced speech recognition by Voice Signal™
  • 128 x 220 pixel, 262K TFT color display
  • Dimensions: 3.82” x 1.18” x .83”; 2.82 ounces with standard battery
