Palm goes green; Wants to recycle mobile phones

In an effort to protect the environment and to get some media recognition I might add, Palm (NSDQ: PALM) has announced that it will start a recycling campaign for mobile phones. Under the Environmental Stewardship program, Palm will properly dispose toxic components such as mercury, lead or lithium found in today’s cell phones. Or to put it in other words, Palm will accept all phones and accessories (not just made by Palm), sort and test them, then either reuse them or reclaim usable parts. The remainder will be disposed away from landfills that could contaminate groundwater.
The program is free to use and Palm will even include postage costs. In case a revenue is generated from a cell phone, the money will go towards funding the program or to the Palm Foundation.
