Alltel launches Motorola MOTOROKR Z6m slider

It looks like Alltel is jumping on board the MOTOROKR train. The attractive Motorola (NYSE: MOT) MOTOROKR Z6m musicphone has hit the Alltel network as the slider of choice for fans of Motorola’s slick design and music-centric features.
With stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot, and USB 2.0 connectivity, the $130 (after contract and rebate) MOTOROKR Z6m is sure to appeal to the hip-and-stylish set with a mind for penny pinching – this isn’t the Z6tv so you won’t get any mobile TV, but you’ll pay a bit less.
Check out that interesting “tattoo” etching on the keypad (there’s also some tattooing on the backside), it looks pretty cool. If this thing had some decent on-board storage, it’d blast the Samsung Juke right out of the water – it’s soo much prettier. Actually, even without the onboard storage capacity of the Juke, the Alltel MOTOROKR Z6m could give Verizon (NYSE: VZ) a run for it’s money/customers.
Its the only one that slides and is a 2.0mgp screen, that was offered to me. Dont really need the music part, though I never used my phone for music, maybe that will change
. Its a very appealing phone. Not to menshion its .5 inches smaller in width than my current phone. Definatly going to pick one up if they can give me a deal.
This phone is amazing! It’s so cute! i used to have the Moto Q but i hated that and when i saw this cute phone i fell in love! i love having music on my phone, although i miss going on myspace every 10 minutes lol

k. well i’ve had this phone since november. and i absolutely loved it. i only bought it bc alltel told me i could use my own music as ringtones. yeah. well my phone decided to turn off and not turn back on last month. and i had to get a new one. Alltel put a block on the phone so you cant use your music as ringtones. i hate my phone now. its like any other phone. i dont recommend it. i have never in my life had a phone quit working after 6 months.

In order to use your own music as ringtones, it is still possible from what i hear. All you have to do is go to your Menu>Media Gallery>Sounds and then find the song you want and move it to your phone, then go to your ringtones, and wa-la you should see your song there to be set as a ringtone.
Nope they locked using your own mp3s as ringtone and are trying to make you pay 3 bucks a ring tone. Well this is asinine and its just them trying to scam the general public. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE AND PLEASE DONT USE ALTELL THERE A BUNCH OF CROOKS. Thats the only thing nice have to to say about altel and the Z6m
Bought phone in January 2008. It has the motorola emblem on the screen and it will not turn off or on. I just shows the motorola M. Had got a small crack in the corner of screen not long after purchase and the phone did this in August. Warranty was voided and no one can tell me how or if it can be fixed. If anyone can help me please do!!! I do not recommend buying a Motorola.
i got pop spilled on my phone and i took it apart and it works and now the side buttons are like broken how can i fix that?
i thought i was gettin a great phone.alltel said u could do alot with the rokr z6m. that was a pile of crap. you can not do anything with this phone. u cannot change anything to do with the text like color or size. its always white text so u have to use a dark wallpaper to see your text. the only way to get new ringtones is u have to buy them off the alltel website.this is a waste of money. alltel locks all new phones. everyone should leave alltel they are a rip off.
Umm, I have Alltel and I have this phone. I just tried and made sure that I could do it before I wrote this. For your own songs as ringtones, becuase Alltel likes to add the convenience of the special music player, you just go into Media Gallary, Sounds, then you scroll over the song you want and hit options, Manage, move (not copy) to phone. Then when its done, go back to the main menu, settings, ring styles, detail, then whatever you want to set it to. If the song isnt in there then you need to delete some pictures and extra stuff (maybe just move them to your memory card) and it should just magically show up.
It wouldnt show up forever on mine till I deleted some extras.

Mic, just got mine today, tried what you said, worked for my old razr. It DOES NOT WORK now, these people who ‘can’t figure it out’ aren’t doing anything wrong, you actually can no longer store a mp3 file to your phone and use it as a ringtone

This phone succckkksss… I’m on my 4th one now. I had one stop turning on. It went to the stupid little M and stayed there… It was terrible. And the paint on the little thing where you click up and down and stuff chipped off in less then a month. And I don’t even have long nails. I’m also VERY frustrated I can’t use ANY ringtones. That pissed me off. Buttt… I am now trying to get the LG Glimmer. I definitely recommend that phone! Peace!
This is my first slider. I went through 3 AX8600’s in a 6 month period, so I decided to try something else. Just to be honest, an LG is not worth anything. Truthfully, they use low quality parts and getting them serviced takes months, not to mention they LOST MY ORDER TWICE! Nobody I know has had good luck with an LG, even the Scoop. The Motorola seems to work pretty good, but as mentioned above, the coloring on the keys wears off, especially since I am a heavy texter. It’s very durable, but the only thing I hate is that you cannot make your own ringtones. You have to buy them, I dont care what anyone else says because that new software you get with the newer ones prevents you from doing that, just for proof, I got this from an Alltel Representative. Just a word of advice to EVERYONE!!! NEVER GET A PLAN AT ALLTEL!!! YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! YOU WILL HEAR THIS FROM EVERYONE! YOU ARE BETTER OFF JUST PAYING A LITTLE MORE AT VERIZON BECAUSE I PROMISE YOU THE ALLTEL PHONES ARE CRAPPY AND THEY ALWAYS HAVE PROBLEMS, AND IN THE LONG RUN YOU WILL END UP PAYING FOR A NEW ONE OUT-OF-POCKET! ALLTEL LIES A LOT!!! I TOOK MY OLD RAZR TO GET FIXED AND THEY SAID ITWAS WATER DAMAGED, SO I TOLD THE ALLTEL REP TO SHOW ME THE PIECE OF WATER-SENSITIVE PAPER TO ME WHERE IT WAS DAMAGED AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE WHAT-SO-EVER, HE EVEN TOLD ME!!! NEVER BUY ALLTEL PLANS!!! I AM WARNING YOU!!! THEY WILL NOT WORK OUT A DEAL WITH YOU!!! YOU WILL BE ON THE TELEPHONE FOR HOURS UPON HOURS WITH FOREIGN PEOPLE YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND!!! U have to move your songs from memory card to phone, just the ones u put as ringtones. U can always switch them back
And just HOW do you MOVE the songs? I have no option to MOVE, MANAGE, SEND….nothing.
Please elaborate.
