WHAT IS ALL THE HYPE ABOUT? I BOUGHT AN UNLOCKED ONE A MONTH AGO ON EBAY.
theyre alright to show off for a couple of days but when you realise theyre just an overpriced 8gb ipod with a crap phone- (yes crap; no video filming/ having to PAY APPLE for your ringtones/ no picture messaging/ lacking many features that are now standard even on cheap phones) i feel there will be many people feeling ripped off when the novelty wears off and theyre tied into a lengthy overpriced (in my opinion) contract.
i have now sold the iphone and bought an n95- believe me i will NOT be looking back. its a shame there are so many gullable people out there. if these people didnt exist, big companies would offer something much better for the consumer.
i personally think FROM ACTUALLY OWNING AN IPHONE that theyre a great money spinner for apple but nothing more really!!!!

I dont care what Al Gore thinks! greenpeace have a record of using shock tactics purely for hype with no basis whatsoever. ie the apple issue wasnt an issue, they were going to stop using the chemicals by 2009 anyway (and plently of other oragnisations use those chemcials too). Brent Sps – ended up polluting more because of their demands.

I dont think Al Gore agree that Grenpeace are
a terrible organisation. Why Appel use this chemicals when the people want save the Earth? Is it only to make money? Or Appel dident know is dangerous?

Why is that even a question!? Apple havent been found in breach and indeed wont because they have the comply with the law by the end of 2008 I believe. It was a typical Greenpeace shock tactic. Greenpeace are a terrible organisation – they are “The Sun” of the conservation world!

One big qweston, about Warning Labels. Need Apple put in them to all iphones? And when they put in Warning Labels will it be on screen? Or back in phone but then it be hard too see the warning label?

Think with Nokias technique with all they can do and Appels trendier/cooler/head-turning look .

What a couple with a lot of mutual understanding

Nokia and Appel had take the busniess of cellphones to the limits and had be number one for a long time

I think whoever thinks the iPhone touch screen is tricky is an idiot. Period.

But the rest of the review is spot on. I live in Los Angeles, we’re all about being superficial and trendy and cool. So, for my everyday phone, I use my iPhone. When I need to geek out with a more powerful phone, I take my N95 – to conferences (CTIA, CES, etc.), and general geeky gatherings.

Each has their own strengths and weaknesses, and to each his own. I don’t need the N95’s features everyday (I don’t go around taking pictures or videos of random crap and I have GPS nav in my car) and the iPhone is definitely the trendier/cooler/head-turning device, so I prefer the iPhone (again, I live down the street from Sunset Blvd. and Hollywood, so I admit that I’m a bit superficial).

Everyone keeps saying how the N95 has this feature and that feature and the iPhone doesn’t. Great. Have fun with N95, it’s an amazing, powerful phone. But to validate your purchase through constantly seeking to knock down another valid player (albeit for completely different markets) is just silly. But then again that’s what fanboys do.

I’ve heard this statement before and Stefan mentioned it before:
“The iPhone is the perfect phone for consuming media – surfing the web, listening to music, watching video, etc. The N95 is the perfect phone for producing media – making videos, taking pictures, etc.” — it’s not an all-encompassing statement, but it crudely sums up the gist of the entire iPhone vs. N95 debate.

disclaimer: I use the terms Geek and FanBoy in a positive light (I consider myself a geek and a fanboy of many things….phones, cars, computers, etc.)

Just saw a review/test/ comparison of the N95 vs apples new Iphone on channel 5’s gadget show, and the N95 whooped the Iphone!
speed=faster
ease of use=better (Iphone touch screen proved a bit tricky to use)
camera=best
video recording= best (coz Iphone doesn’t record video)
sat nav/gps=worked better(although neither could find a sattelite, the internet map..er..thing on the N95 worked faster and better than the Iphone equivalant).
sound=louder(using the on board speakers,they had to hook the Iphone up to some external speakers to make it anywhere near as loud)
internet access=easier to use and faster
overall= they reckon if you want a phone thats stylish and will have people talking about it and wanting to have a go get the Iphone, but if you want a phone that is feature packed and a bit of a power house/work horse(i.e. you want to actually use it to do stuff) get the N95!

I agree with Chris P , I dont belive people in Europe be so easy swindled from Appel-s publicity of iphones futures. The Europens and almost rest of world have live with 3G and 3.5G turbo then it feels like Appel are 5 years behind to N95 and other phones.

What awkward camera no video no 3G no mms not open to applications and you most sign to a expensive long iphone contrackt?

And the only thing you get is nice to touch a damm screen?

I thought 1% was supposedly what apple was aiming for!

Personally I think apple wont do well in Europe unless iphone2 is improved to compete with the more advanced and more ‘open’ phones available in Europe. A lack of 3g and unopen iphone are huge contributing factors.

Survey: only 1% want iPhone

People know all about the Apple iPhone, but they are not prepared to pay £269.99 for it, according to a survey by YouGov.

Twenty five percent of respondents expressed ‘a high likelihood’ of buying the handset after they were shown a list of its features. But this fell to 1% when they were told that the handset would cost £269 and the minimum monthly contract would be £35.

Head of technology and telecoms consulting at YouGov Marek Vaygelt said convincing customers to pay such a significant sum would be a challenge for Apple, O2 and Carphone Warehouse. He added: ‘The Apple iPhone has the potential to be a disruptive product in the mobile phone industry in the run-up to Christmas, but it will require marketing that changes traditional purchasing behaviour to win over customers.’
