MetroPCS calls it quits on Leap Wireless acquisition dealBusiness is a lot like dating. You keep hitting on other people in the hopes that you’ll be able to score that meaningful relationship that makes both parties happy. But, if the same hottie keep burning you with super-cold rejection, you just have to call it quits.

MetroPCS apparently can’t stand the constant rejection by Leap Wireless – they’ve announced that they will stop pursuing Leap Wireless for acquisition. MetroPCS released a statement that the company “has not been able to engage Leap in meaningful negotiations.” And, to rub some salty insult into that wound, Leap CEO Doug Hutcheson stated that the deal was “completely inadequate in a number of critical areas.” Leap Wireless’ shoulder is a cold one indeed.

Meanwhile, MetroPCS has successfully broken into the coveted Los Angeles, CA. market, so they’re not doing too badly. Still, it’s gotta be pretty harsh, making public their “inadequacies” and all.

Update: It seems Leap is still open to negotiations with MetroPCS. We think the two companies would be better by joining forces, so we’ll see what happens.
