LG has just launched two, new i-mode sliders for the tri-band European market. The LG KG291 and LG KE590 are the two lower- to mid-end offerings for carriers like Italian Wind.

The LG KG291 brings up the low-end of this duo. With a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP, microSD card slot, USB 2.0, mp3 player, 3gp video playback at 15 fps,and 7MB of internal memory, the LG KG291 is about as low-end as they get. And, measuring in at 92 x 46 x 17.7 mm and tipping the scales at 92g, its size is fairly unimpressive as well. Expect a 4 hour talk-time and 100 hour stand-by time.

The LG KE590 is the more feature-packed of the two Wind handsts. It features the same Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP, microSD card slot, USB 2.0, mp3 player, and 3gp 15fps video playback as the LG KG291, but rocks a full 2 megapixel camera and a whopping 56MB of storage. The LG KE590 measures 97 x 48 x 16.5 mm and weighs the same 92g as its lower-end sibling, and even supports the same 4/100 hr talk/stand-by time rating.

I am just wondering what is the advantage of i-mode now. It may be a good choice 4 year ago…
