ShoZu goes beyond media uploading; Enables Flickr photo, top YouTube video sharing directly to handsets

I’m sure most of smartphone users have heard about ShoZu, the mobile image and video uploading application. Well, they’ve realized there’s more than uploading in the mobile Web 2.0 space, hence their latest update enables users to have friends’ latest Flickr photos as well as the top YouTube videos sent directly to their handsets.

To put it in other words – now you’ll be able to get your friends’ Flickr photos as soon as they’re posted. In addition, (if you opt-in) you’ll get YouTube’s “Featured,” “Mobile” and “Most Views” clips sent to the phone. ShoZu delivers a thumbnail and description of each clip, and if you like it – just click on the video to begin streaming from YouTube.

Yeah, but what about waiting time and bandwidth costs. Smart folks behind ShoZu got you covered there as well. Each feed is delivered in the background with no download downtime or other interruption to phone activities, and is announced with a popup message on the phone idle screen. As for the data transfer costs, there are the cost control options enabling setup of weekly limits on data delivery by megabyte.

Finally, ShoZu said Flickr and YouTube are just the first media sharing services to get this kind of support and other social media delivery options are scheduled to be added in the near future. Good work ShoZu!
