Downgrading iPhone from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1

Just when you’ve started enjoying the unlocked iPhone firmware 1.1.1, Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) decided to close the doors to the third party apps and other hacks again. Luckily, there’s a way to go back in time and restore your firmware version to 1.1.1.
You should know you’ll need the firmware 1.1.1 ipsw file in your computer as well as iNdependence version 1.2.5 before you proceed. If you don’t have it – grab it from an iPhone buddy and check out the detailed instructions on Hackintosh forum. Good luck.
hello everyone i have purchased an iphone from the USA and i live in canada ive been trying to activate the damn thing but it wont let me !!! it has the 1.1.2 firmware ….. i have downgraded to 1.1.1 and try the 307 trick to install appsnapp when i click the appsnapp icon it does wat its supposed 2 and goes back to the acivation screen but will not reboot and when i turn it off and on again i get that plug into itunes screen ??????
can anyone help me ?? this is driving me crazy !!

negative i have downgraded to 1.1.1 but the usual way to unlock still does not work !! so i still have no idea how the hell to get this 400 dollar paper weight to work !! let me know if you hear anything and i will do the same !!!

dude we are both fucked untill these hackers come up with something good !!! i downgraded to 1.1.1 on the phone installed appsnapp , unlocked the phone and tried the anysim 1.1 but fuck all happened !!! apparently im told we have to downgrade our baseband firmware as well from 04.02.13_G to 14.01.13_G this is some bullshit so for now id say we bought a very flashy paper weight !!!!!! FUCK

Hey guys i saw your post and thought i could help. I have been working on getting this thing to work on 1.1.2 and it works somewhat.
Before we begin, download the following:
* iPhone firmware 1.1.2
* iTunes 7.5
* Java Runtime Environment (JRE) v1.6 (update 3)
* 1.1.2 Jailbreak
Phase 1 :: Checking your bootloader version
For those of you who have owned an iPhone prior to November 9th, then you can skip this step. If you don’t otherwise know any better, you might want to verify what bootloader you have on your iPhone right now.
First you will need to have bbupdater installed in your /usr/bin folder. I will not provide this file. Google for it, or check the usual forums. Use the Terminal to login to the iPhone via SSH. Enter the following commands:

Your results better match those below as far as the bootloader is concerned. If they don’t, then DO NOT proceed!

When you are done checking, restart your iPhone.
Phase 2 :: Upgrade 1.1.1 to 1.1.2
1. Install BSD Subsystem v1.5 via Installer (if exists, move to next step)
2. Prepare your 1.1.1 device for the Update
(I). Launch Installer.app
(II). Scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1)
(III). Select OktoPrep
(IV). Click Install
3. Connect your phone to iTunes.
4. Do either Download & Install or press SHIFT + Update button and point it to the v1.1.2 firmware you downloaded manually.
5. Jailbreak 1.1.2
- So, right now you should have a nice 1.1.2 activate screen talking in tongues. As a rule of thumb, just open iTunes and let it detect the iPhone then close it.
- Now run windows.bat from the 1.1.2 jailbreak and check option Install ssh, change password if needed and click Jailbreak
- Might take like 5-10 mins, Go chill during this time!
Phase 3 :: Unlocking using anySIM1.2.1u
1. Put your AT&T SIM in the phone OR your own SIM is fine.
2. Run Installer and install BSD Subsystem 1.5 using ibrickr
3. Install anySIM1.2.1u via “winscp” (username root password alpine)
4. Goto Settings > Switch ON Airplane mode.
5. Goto Settings > General > Auto-lock change it to Never.
6. Run anySIM1.2.1u
7. After it shows the “Successfully unlocked message”. Uninstall anySIM via Installer.
8. Goto Settings > Switch OFF Airplane mode.
Fix for Crashing phone/SMS *optional*
– In Installer, look under Tweaks v1.1.2
– Install iWorld select your country from the list and its done

Hi, my phone (UK Model) came with 1.1.2 – I have it unlocked on o2 Pay As You Go. EDGE does not appear in my settings.
Can an iPhone that came with 1.1.2 be downgraded to 1.1.1? And will this bring the EDGE to the phone?

OMG!!! The only thing you need to unlock any iPhone version is iNdependance (latest version) Go to Help-iNdependance Help. Click “Overview of the interface and how to use it” Or the second option, if you are physically incapable of reading. Scroll down to the very bottom. You will see “Usage By Phone Firmware Version” On the very, very bottom, you will see two options. One is if you have version 1.0.2 or lower, one is if you are using 1.1.1 or higher. These are very in-depth tutorials on how to unlock it. Hell, this can even unlock phones with the new bootloader that just started shipping from apple. In fact, I’m surprised I’m the first one who has found this out on the internet. Everyone else is too lazy to read the help instructions. Everywhere I look “You can’t unlock with the new bootloader. Yeah right! Whatever. Hope this helps those 12-year-olds that get iPhones, and their parents switch service providers, so they look everywhere for hacks to unlock, but cannot find an unlock with new bootloader. (P.S. – I AM NOT A 12-YEAR-OLD!!! I AM ALSO NOT SMARTER THAN MY COMPUTER TEACHER, AND AM NOT CALLED WHENEVER MY ENGLISH TEACHER’S COMPUTER IS NOT WORKING!!!!!)
So i just bought a iphone that has version 1.1.2 out of box. I am new to hacking these and after reading these posts am still unsure of some things. I understand that it is necessary to downgrade the phone to version 1.1.1 in order to continue on but once you unlock and activate it, will you be able to place another sim card into the phone that is on a plan and use the phone service. I tend to read that the phone will be unlocked and activated, but it seems like you cannot use the calling feature. Can someone please clarify whether you will be able to use the call feature if you place a new, activated sim card from another company in…(i.e. rogers). Also, what is the equivalent program to iNdependance for a regular pc(windows based). Thanks.

I have checked a few different ways of unlocking the latest iPhone 1.1.2 OTB and there is nothing that works properly. Although I heard there is a Chinese group that has apparently unlock this phone and they say that they will release this soon, however I also heard that Apple will be bringing out new firmware V1.1.3 (without base loader)which will be nearly impossible to hack.
Unless anyone can show me otherwise then this comment stands firm.
Beware of all these rip offs out there, because that’s all they are and oh the “Turbo Sim” does not unlock the phone it just tricks the phone, but has some side effects.

if you have downgraded to 1.1.1 just tap jailbreakme.com in safari and it will automatically install the installer on your iphone. You will need to have wireless internet connection.
I live in UAE where iphone has not been officially launched. The problem with ma iphone is that i’m unable to receive any call and whenever i use the dial pad after two charcters dial pad disappears. Previoulsy it was working fine but from last couple of days its creating problem. I have got 1.1.2 firmware. So can anybody help me out to fix this problem? will really appreciate..
