Lenovo is preparing a new gaming phone for the Chinese market - i909. Similarly to utec T680 and Century Sutra 1688, Lenovo’s device also comes with the gamepad, enabling users to enjoy playing games in a more convenient manner. The i909 doesn’t support Java games — rather it relies on the built-in NES emulator, meaning users will have a huge game base at their disposal right from the start.

As for the specs, the candybar device comes with the 2.4″ 262K color QVGA TFT screen, 2 MP camera, media player and of course the microSD memory slot. The device measures 111.4×50.2×15.5 mm and has a weight of 112.8 grams.

Nice idea. I wonder when we’ll see this happening (handset makers bundling gamepads with phones) in the Western hemisphere. That could certainly help Nokia sell more NGage-enabled phones…
