Telus adds LG 285 for those not looking much from their phone

In preparation for the Christmas season, Telus (NYSE: TU) has added the low-end LG 285 phone. The clamshell device everything but impresses with its “feature set,” but it DOES look quite decent for an entry-level phone.
As for the specs, there’s the Bluetooth connectivity and VGA camera on board. In addition, users of this device will also be able to chat with their buddies on Windows Live Messenger and check their email while on-the-go.
The LG 285 measures 89×47x22 mm, weighs 91 grams, and could be yours from free on a 3-year term to CA$199.99 sans any contract…

Walk in to a telus store and ask if they have any pay-as-you-go phones. You can get this exact phone for $99, I know this because I did it yesterday.
Enjoy and remember that the power lies in the user, not the supplier!
Got it at Walmart during their annivaersary sale for $58.00.
It is a good phone. Good for phone calls and texting. Not good for downloading stuff. There is no website that allows you to download free ringtones or wallpaper to it. Most websites have ringtones and wallpapers for all the other LG phones, except for the LG 285. You can only get them from the Telus website. It really sucks because you have to pay $3.50 for it, and then you have to go online from the phone and download it, which costs $0.50. So you’re paying $4.00 for every ringtone or wallpaper you download. I hate that!
