Brief: I reassure you, the Nokia N82 supports microSDHC
By Stefan Constantinescu on Saturday, November 17th, 2007 at 12:47 PM PST In Nokia
Forum Nokia has the technical specifications of the N82 listed incorrectly, saying that the maximum memory capacity supported is only 2 GB. I received about 15 emails today asking me to confirm that typo and ladies and gentlemen I’m here to offer you peace of mind. Here is my Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N82 with my SanDisk 4 GB microSDHC card inside, proudly working. The N82 supports microSDHC which also means it will support cards up to 32 GB in size, when they do come out, eventually.

Hello Stefan,
How much is the N82? Where Can I buy it?
Am in U.S, and they don’t sale it yet.
I have called Nokia New York, they don’t have it.
If the main store in NY does not sale this N82, there is no place in the entire U.S where we can buy it. Please advice.
Sincerely,
It shipped like yesterday, hold your horses. Call back the Nokia flagship store and ask if you can be put on the “preorder” list. When the N95 launched both the Chicago and NYC flagship stores created a list of customers to notify upon receiving stock. They will either email or phone you with the final price and purchasing instructions when they get N82s. If they haven’t begun such a list yet, just wait 2-3 weeks. (They also ship nationwide, but not to Canada)
Stefan, do you have an 8 gig card yet, because I know there out in the UK and states, confirmation of working with an 8 gig card would be reassuring.
This seems incredibly shallow of me, but I just don’t like the color…
I dont think you are shallow at all. I totally agree. The two things that could have made this phone perfect that nokia got wrong was the keypad (which should have been like the N81), and the colour (which should be all white or all black like the pre-release photos)…
Hi .. i just wandering around when i found out about this new phone .. i’ve been debating on what phone to use .. my list are in between the Nokia E90, this Nokia N82 and the Samsung F700 .. only the E90 i found on market .. i’m not so sure if the other too are out yet .. if you can give me some advice on those three for which one i should buy .. that would be awesome .. i love the Qwerty keyboard feature .. but heard that E90 has some issue with the keyboard being too close to the screen and would cause some damages .. also i love the speaker like one in the N95 .. i dont like using earphones … that’s why i was wonder if of those 3 phones above, any of them have good speaker ..
i’m currently using the N91 and very not so fond of it ..
thank you in advance ..
N82 is half as much as E90, so thats an obvious choice. The real choice is if you want a business phone with qwerty keypad, or a multimedia phone. I think E90 is the best business phone, but its also really expensive.
This phone is simply amazing. The picture quality is superb and I do agree that the keyboard and the color is quite unfavorable. But, its other features like the 5mp camera with xenon flash, wi-fi, gps, makes up for it. Most of all, I am a music person and usually I prefer phones with good music features. I was wondering if this phone had the support of 8GB Micro Sd card. If it does, then it is easily beaten the Sony Ericsson W960i, iphone, and matched up too N95.
In case anyone wondering, this is to confirm 8Gb Micro SDHC works with N82!
N82 only support FAT 16 and that is 2GB, N82 is not fully supported FAT32 means 4GB and that is micro sdHC i have tried it supports but not fully supported e.g when you open your music player it says file corrupted and blaa blaa … !!!
Sandisk sdhc 8gig micro + N82 with latest firmware = works like a charm.
I have occupied approximately 95% of the 8gig and it is 100% perfect.
How much is the 8GB Micro SDHC? And about the Mirco SD cards… Last year, I bought a 512 MB Micro SD card for $ 17.50. 1 GB was $ 25. Now, we can just buy a 4 GB Micro SD card for $ 23.75. That’s very cheap!
