Just in case you don’t feel secure enough about your Windows Mobile device, two of the leading anti-malware developers has announced their anti-virus and anti-trojan solutions for Windows Mobile platform. As you’ve probably guessed from the title of this post, it’s McAfee and Symantec which have announced VirusScan Mobile and Norton Smartphone Security respectively, with latter also announcing support for Symbian v9 (S60 3rd edition and UIQ 3) based devices — even though we still have to see any serious threat for the Symbian 9 platform.
Anyway, if you crave for additional security – these two apps will certainly help you sleep better (and longer). More information is available on McAfee’s and Symantec’s websites.

Or indeed any threat at all, for Symbian OS 9. The OS itself makes viruses utterly impossible. The only effect of installing Norton for S60 3rd Edition or UIQ 3 will be that your smartphone becomes slower.
Maybe the a-v software itself should be regarded as malware, since it harms peformance of the phone?
