A mobile phone with a hidden Bluetooth headset

While the phone on the image above DOES look like "yet another Chinese phone" — it's the look of the menu items at the bottom of the screen that tells us so — actually it's not true. The main idea behind this device called Star NX788 is to assure that users NEVER forget their Bluetooth headset at home or at work. And how the designer of this phone managed to do that — simply by placing a small compartment for the Bluetooth headset on the phone's body. The result is quite interesting device that basically hides the Bluetooth headset.
As for the specs, the Star NX788 comes with a dual-band GSM radio, stereo Bluetooth support (A2DP), 2.6" QVGA touchscreen, 1.3 MP camera, and of course the microSD expansion slot. Finally, let's talk about the size — the phone measures 114×50x18 mm and has a weight of 110 grams.
Nice move folks. I would expect other handset makers to do the same — it's just so practical… Check out one more image which shows the mentioned hidden compartment along with the Bluetooth headset after the jump.

Cute, innovative idea. Every drop of volume is precious inside a mobile phone. I don't think the idea will catch on. RF radiated performance of the phone will be different with and without the BT headset inside the compartment, making for two certification classes of operation. Must give the manufacturer kudos for taking the risk of doing something interesting and different.
