How-To: Add third-party sources to your iPhone’s Installer.app

I recently found myself needing to add a third-party repository to my iPhone’s Installer.app “Sources” list. An application repository is basically a handful of third-party applications meant for Installer.app. Repositories are hosted by various developers – Ste, Conceited Software, ModMyiFone, etc.
While Installer.app is a great way to add third-party applications to your iPhone, you won’t be able to access a particular developer’s applications-list without adding their repository to your “Source” list.
Here’s a quick tutorial on just how to add application sources like ModMyiFone’s application repository:
- Jailbreak (updated Jailbreak method for v1.1.2 iPhones) your iPhone – the Nullriver Installer application (Installer.app) will automatically install itself

- Start-up your Installer.app

- Hit up the “Sources” section

- Then hit “Edit” in the upper right corner
- You should see the “Refresh” button replaced with the “Add” button in the upper left corner, hit that.

- Enter the address of the developer’s repository (for MMi, it’s http://modmyifone.com/installer.xml)

- Click “Done” and you’re, well, done! You should now see new applications from the developer in your “Install” section – adding the MMi source will result in a new “ModMyiFone.com” category as well as a host of other “MMi” categories.

That’s it, pretty painless right? If you have any questions, leave it in the Comments section.

Hi
I used the installer.app to install the SMSD and a couple of other applications. After I finished with installing the new apps, my installer application has disappeared from the home screen. HOw do i now go to the installer application? Any help would be appreciated
Try a restore and re-jailbreak?
Here is an Installer repository search http://iappcat.com featuring the list of all available sources (currently, more than 130 sources with 1800 packages) and with the ability to create own repository consisting only selected packages.
I’ve added the modmyifone.com/installer.xml source but it didn’t appeard anything in the intaller
And in the sources it appeard uncategorized and then the modmyifone.com/installer.xml
Can you help me please??
Have you tried refreshing your sources? Did you add the entire source URL including the “http://” portion?
