Bring your WiFi hotspot with you – CradlePoint PHS300
By Will Park on Monday, December 10th, 2007 at 11:09 PM PST In Accessories, Announcements, Technologies

WiFi hotspots are great and all, but you have to be in range of an access point in order to put it to good use. Well, CradlePoint has a solution for WiFi junkies anywhere, at anytime, at a whim. The CradlePoint PHS300 is a portable WiFi hotspot, complete with its own Li-ion power supply – you know, in case you don’t have an AC outlet to go with your portable hotspot. Just hook up your USB wireless modem or your compatible mobile phone to the CradlePoint PHS300 and you’re good to go on a WEP/WPA and firewall-secured network.
And, if you can spare the Lithium ions, the CradlePoint PHS300 will charge your handset through the USB port as well. We’re expecting a December 20, 2007 release date, just in time for you-know-what. The price of admission is steep. At $179.99 it’s not exactly a bargain, but if you need a portable hotspot, this thing is your best bet.
