Samsung Katalyst now official on T-Mobile

Samsung KatalystYap folks, we knew this is coming. The slider-shaped Samsung t739 — also known as the Samsung Katalyst — should hit T-Mobile (NYSE: DT)’s site and stores nationwide anytime soon. At the moment of writing this article, I haven’t been able to find it on the carrier’s website, though.

As you already know, the Katalyst comes with support for T-Mobile HotSpot @Home and can be also used for free (with a right plan) or cheaper VoIP phone calls at nearly 8,500 T-Mobile HotSpot locations nationwide. In addition to WiFi, the non-3G device also comes with myFaves support, 1.3 MP camera, Bluetooth, pre-installed IM app that supports all the major IM networks (AOL, ICQ, Yahoo and Windows Live Messenger), and of course the microSD memory expansion slot… All in all, it’s a simple WiFi enabled feature phone for people who doesn’t look much from their device, but like the idea of cheaper/free phone calls — again with a right plan. Plus, they may want to have their music on their mobile and/or chat with their IM buddies while on-the-go.
