Palm Treo 755p delayed on Verizon WirelessPalm’s shares recently took a bit of a nose-dive on news that an unnamed handset’s delay, coupled with unexpected warranty repairs, will lead to a negative Q4 2007 for the No. 2 national, and largest CDMA, carrier. So, just what mobile phone did Verizon Wireless have in its pipeline and failed to launch? Well, word on the street has it that Verizon’s Palm Treo 755p is to blame.

We’re hearing that Verizon has had trouble getting the Palm Treo 755p certified for its CDMA network. And, following on rumors that the Treo 755p was headed to Verizon, it looks like the unrivaled boring-ness of Palm’s high-end (with that incredibly craptastic Palm OS) will be delayed a bit longer.

Unfortunate? Yes. Disappointing? Absolutely…not. Hey Palm, get your act together and concentrate on compelling and unique devices. Otherwise, your new equity partner may never see a return on their sizable investment.
