Chinese mobile phone users sent 429 billion text messages last yearDon’t you just love the stories involving numbers from China and India? For one thing I love them — they show us just how much mobile industry is growing. Last year, Chinese mobile phone users send 429 billion text messages! Or to put it in a perspective, an average of 967 SMS were sent per user.

And while that’s quite an impressive number, let’s not forget that it’s India whose mobile industry is growing at the fastest rate. During 2006, mobile operators in the “world’s largest democracy” doubled subscriptions reaching a total of 150 million users. In comparison, whole Britain has 70 million mobile phone users. Like it or not, the new superpowers are emerging…

    That’s 330 sms pro person when you consider china has 1.3billion people. Ehh.. thats very low actually, 330sms i do in a month sometimes!
