Verizon passes Palm Treo 755p just in time to have Palm employees firedWell, ain’t this a bit of unexpected good news from the ailing Treo-maker. It seems that recent layoff plans and negative quarterly results haven’t stopped Palm from continuing to push the Palm Treo 755p through Verizon Wireless’s certification tests. We’re hearing that the hugely disappointing Treo 755p has been given the thumbs-up to hit Big Red’s network and should be pulling duty as Verizon’s Treo-flagship in the near future – that is, if you still (or ever did) care.

It’s too bad the delay of this incredibly unworthy device was the cause of Palm’s continued financial troubles – and precipitated the demise of a portion of Palm’s workforce. Verizon Wireless fans rejoice! Your carrier’s certification process is the root of all those employees’ holiday woes. Hope it was worth it. Was it worth it? Damn.
