Video: New S60 accelerometer based application and a tour of France

By Stefan Constantinescu on Monday, December 17th, 2007 at 6:32 PM PST In Nokia

Samir is a French S60 developer who has taken the beta accelerometer toolkit and used it to create several applications such as NokMote and RotateMe. Recently he created a new application called “ShutUp.” Not the most marketable label, but the basic functionality is this: when someone calls you and you quickly want to silence the device you simply flip the device over. He obviously got this idea from the S60 touch video, but props to him for backporting the feature for current devices that have accelerometers built in.

The demo of ShutUp is towards the end of the video. Moby warning!
