It’s holiday season and that’s the right time to get a new camera phone. If you can afford it, you should go for the handset with 5 megapixel camera and a Xenon flash. Two devices come to mind instantly – Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) K850i and Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N82. While the former is certainly easier to carry around (it’s smaller), the latter is a smartphone and we all know that opens a whole new world of 3rd-party apps. Still, some people may find all they need in the Sony Ericsson’s model.
Anyway, we have tons of photos of the two devices standing side by side which will hopefully help choose the device you like better…

definitly n82 is an arsenal of features and aplications etc. ericson is best looling but cant write fast messages in those buttons in ericsson. and in n82 you can even chat and watch you tube videos and more. video cualiti best in n82 camera fast is better in sony sound is maybe the same.
I got k850i n my gf got N82.ze k850i beats ze N82 almost everywhere in camera.music is better.SE interface is soo much better.[SE takes ze glory.No other mobile phone compares to a sony ericsson.we created walkman,we created ze best camera,we r ze creator.lollllllllllllllllll]

Sony CE0 and chairman: ‘Buying out a partner is never an easy thing’
Speculation continues over the future of the Sony Ericsson joint venture after comments made by Sony’s CEO and chairman, Howard Stringer, last month.
There have been reports that Sony wants to break the relationship with Ericsson with senior executives at Sony believed to have discussed that the value of the joint venture is held in Sony’s brands, such as Walkman and Cyber-shot, questioning the contribution of Ericsson.
Asked by a German newspaper if ‘it’s time to part company with Ericsson’, Stringer (pictured) said: ‘It’s certainly been a difficult year, but buying out a partner is never an easy thing.’
Sony Ericsson’s new CEO, Dick Komiyama, has begun a round of brutal cost-cutting after profits dived by 97% at the last results.
So if you get a Sony Ericsson I dont belive
the warranty will exists long.

listen I had the k850 am not fanatic for sony or nokia, just read k850 is a good camera , but not a good device in features like the nokia, no wlan , no quick office no good video quality nothing special in aplications, just byt what make you happy but I was disssapointed in ericsson and now Im happy with nokia. you have to try them both and realize a solid truth here, and this time nokia wins. even if ericsson is a little bit fast, but is a lot more useles than nokia.sony is like and old k550 but with 5 mpixels in camera that isnt better than k800 wich xenon flash was amazing. so see you cause im going now Im still discovering new features on my nokia
That’s great if it has a DLNA too, that’s what Nokia is made for, waiting for a new technology copy and paste it on their systems, yeah nokia phones has more features. but as i have said, there are laptops, PDA’s, Cameras, which are produced to have a specific function and a secondary crap.
All phones are great depending on who will use it.

For us thats one of the pro’s for s.e. since there are no viruses for java.
what the heck with Nokai,alway copy tech from SE.take example about auto rotate.it’s first in the world come from K850.
and about the camera,Nokai only using carl zeiss which is only for lens NooB
its just about your feel and your soul to choose betwen N82 and K850i…LOL…
i have N82 now, it’s nice, very nice, but about the battery is very weak for usefull…(for game, use wifi, music, sms, camera in one time) but if you use for normal it can take along time, 2 until 3 days…

Personally I think the k850i is a better phone in terms of music and pictures quality. But if you want to go for GPS or wi-fi, then by all means go and get a nokia n82. I am now using a k850i and my god I was very pleased with it. A friend of mine who got the n82 was very regretful over his decision as he was opting for the pictures quality but was deeply disappointed when I showed him the pictures taken by my k850i. The music without doubt will stand by k850i side as the music quality is very near to those of walkman’s phone. In terms of internet browsing, both phones are outstanding just that n82 win with the wi-fi alternative meaning no need to pay internet charges when surfing the net. Both of them can browse the internet at outstanding speed so to me it’s basically not a problem not having a built-in wi-fi. So whether to get a k850i or n82 is really up to the individual^^ Just don’t regret over your decision.
Oh yeah, mikey’d was it, please don’t be so incompetent and bias when giving out your opinion. It will somehow reflect your immaturity. Everything have it’s pro and cons and it’s just up to the individual to decide whether to get a k850i or a n82 depending on his individual needs. Plus to start of with k850i don’t have DLNA as it does not support wi-fi…duhh~
hey ever one. sony ericsson better than nokia because sony like linuxe(you don’t need to formate your phone for all your live) and nokia like windows xp or vista (you must do formate to your phone every 3 or 5 month). also sony have good camera (from k800i to ….) can stop fan with high speed and give you picture like fan stop (with flash) but nokia(all nokia) can’t do it. you most buy c905 or k850i. bay

the sales are much much more than SE

best gaming phone too, because it can play many 3D games, like Fishlabs games (galaxy on fire 1 & 2 3D, deep 3D, Blades and Magic 3D, Gladiator 3D, Planet Riders 3D, Snowboard Hero 3D, and Tony Hawk 3D). They work best on SE k850, and other SE phone,,,
Nokia can’t play these games, It will result application error,, even nokia 5320, 5220, 5310, and 5800 XpressMusic… I’ve tried this..

Well, SE is a great phone. Amazing. I just like Nokia better.Its simple & practical. And its features are better. About camera quality, well, I don’t know. I mean what does it matter? SE probly wins a bit. Its not like N82’s camera SUCK~ So what if it loses a bit.
