Hot Off The Press: Leaked Nokia E71 picture

Here she is, we brought you the specs yesterday, to summarize: 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, HSDPA, 120 grams, 57 x 112 x 10 mm, now here is the actual device:
[Via: Mobile Review]
Notice the absence of the Symbian key, similar to the E51 it is now a home key. The buttons look Treo like, due to their raised nature. Whoever took this picture has balls, that looks like the inside of a Nokia building. All this device needs to be perfect is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, just like RIM has on their BlackBerry lineup, something tells me it isn't going to happen, sigh.

Mmm yummy

Wow, very nice. Nokia will probably use the same colors as e51 too, chrome, black and copper.

Looks good. Really good actually. This is what the E6x should have been.
US 3G and solid marketing will have this device do very well here.
Only critique on the design is the 4 app buttons, the surrounding buttons, and the 5way; they are all too close. And like the E61i, I can see people with big hands having issues with this unless the buttons are a lot more grippy.

That is haught!!!
January 5th, 2008 at 11:22 am
it does look like there are keys on the right side to use as up an down, to scroll like blackberry
thanks for the photo!

Looks very nice. Is it going to have 3G? Hopefully
January 5th, 2008 at 12:56 pm
Big question is will it still have only the qvga display or is it already vga? If it's vga, I would seriously consider switching my E90 for this one. Qvga is just not enough for my web browsing needs.
I really like how they have managed to squeeze it smaller and add functionality. Let's cross our fingers for vga display!

dear god this looks fantastic, hopefully it wont take long to be released, i heard its going to be released on Q2, thats too long, ill spend six months dreaming of having this device
January 5th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
I agree with you Stefan: it needs a 3.5mm jack to be perfect*. The keys look very good and tactile, although it does seem smashed together. Also, I hope it comes in a black or white version as well as I'm not a huge fan of the bronze look (ala E51). I was going to pick up an E61i again but this thing may need my money thrown at it -

SLURP… I dare to say that this thing has iPhone look to it.. But with ONE HUGE difference. It has brain
January 5th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
I really don't understand why people say this looks like the iPhone….

well stefan, i'd say 3.5mm headphone jack, bluetooth2.0 and mini/micro/whatever USB instead of the pop-port that generally sucks…
is it just me or the phone looks really, really thin?

Question of the day:
********************
Will it come with Symbian S60 FP2?
Will it have a good build in radio?
Will it be touchscreen??
Will it have storage capacity of min 8GB?
************************************
If all q's are a yes, then i'll buy it. If not, I dont see how it can compete against the iphone 2! Nokia, your future as a leading technology mobile phone manufacturer lies on the inside of this phone. Either you set the bar with this phone or you get eaten up, as simple as that!

People!
This phone will be absolutely shot!
It have all attributes for an ideal business compact phone: size and shape (candy bar retainable in hand, very thin-10 mm in the middle, QWERTY with convex keys, big screen, perfect scroll and navigations keys (message, calender, contacts etc.).
Also it have as I can see lot of switches on the side and extraordinary shape not extremely prominent
on the upper and lower part of housing which contribute to handling!
If they put some metal parts in body (like E51 silver) it will be an ideal phone!
Bravo Nokia!

Please don't let AT&T and Nokia do to the E71 what they did to the E61 when the E62 was "designed". Make a difference by signing the online petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/NokiaE71/petition.html
Thank you.
