Sony Ericsson announces Z555, W760, W350

Yap, we knew this is coming. Today Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) unveiled three new phones: Z555 – stylish mid-range clamshell, W350 and W760 Walkman phones. Every mentioned device sports stereo Bluetooth, FM radio, PlayNow support, and the Memory Stick Micro (M2) expansion slot. In addition, all three phones come with such pre-installed software as web browser, email and instant messaging client, RSS reader, picture blogging app, as well as other standard applications like calendar, alarm, stopwatch, calculator, notes and more. However, there are some differences to say the least…
Sony Ericsson Z555
- breathtaking aesthetics (”diamond design”, hidden OLED monochrome display), clamshell form factor
- gesture control
- 1.9″ 262,144 color 176×220 TFT screen, external 128×36 OLED monochrome

- HSDPA – yeah, it’s 3.5G ready phone
- 2.2″ QVGA 262,144 color display
- 3.2 megapixel camera, video recording/blogging
- comes with 1 GB Memory Stick Micro (M2)
- 3D games including Need for Speed ProStreet
- stereo speakers
- size: 103×48x15 mm, weight: 103 grams
- W760 will be available in selected markets (Europe, China) from Q2 2008

As you can probably guess, we like the W760 the most. When you think about it, once it hit the markets, it will be one of the best feature phones. Can’t wait to give it a try…
No one is arguing, the 760 is adorable and full of fun features. But is the average Joe going to fork out cash for a package of features they don’t even want?
I don’t know. There just might not be a geek in all of us.
If a carrier doesn’t pick these up here in the states, they will all be totally forgetable -
Well with 2.2? QVGA 262,144 color display in the w760 fells like crap and the other with 1.3MP camera it sounds like no hit…

Wow, they have it out in CHina and the UK but not here in North America? That’s quite depressing. Hopefully rogers or something carries it, i’m dying to get this phone. Anyone have any hints of when it might be out here?
