It’s not unusual to see a slew of structural changes and additions with the installation of a new commander-in-chief, but it’s not everyday that we see the new CEO of a company hire once-colleagues from his previous gig – Virgin Mobile. Orange UK’s new CEO, Tom Alexander has brought a few buddies onboard as senior managers – Andrew Ralston, Gerry McQuade and Steven Day all used to work for Virgin Mobile and are now part of Orange UK’s new corporate hierarchy.
As a founder and former CEO of Virgin Mobile since 1996, Alexander’s move to Orange UK could spark a renewed push towards the top of the UK market. Says the new CEO, “Over the coming weeks, the UK management and myself will be working together to ensure the right things are in place to ensure ongoing success for Orange,” he said.”
We hope the new CEO and his cronies are just what the doctor ordered.
