Sony Ericsson looks hotter than ever; Signs Maria Sharapova as the brand ambassador

Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) has just brought Maria Sharapova to its side. Under the agreement, the beautiful Russian player player will become the Swedish-Japanese handset maker’s first global brand ambassador. The mentioned position — at least for Maria — doesn’t just include promotion of the Sony Ericsson’s handsets and accessories — she will also be working with the SE’s design team on a range of products and accessories.
Commenting on the announcement, Maria Sharapova said, “It is really exciting to be working with a cool brand like Sony Ericsson which has such a strong reputation in the entertainment industry.” It certainly does… Now Maria if you want to volunteer for IntoMobile, we’ll make you our global brand ambassador as well. Just please hurry up, we have Ana Ivanovic standing in line too…

This isn’t enough to make SE a major player…they need to make some better than average handsets to set themselves apart in the mobile industry -
