Thanks to the folks behind the Federal Communications Commission, we know Samsung is preparing to launch the CDMA-based U550 clamshell phone. The upcoming device is the successor of the U540 model, which is currently available through Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless in the U.S.
As for the features, the U550 sports all the goodies its predecessor has — including dual screens, external touch controls, EV-DO, Bluetooth, 2.5 audio jack, camera, and the microSD expansion slot. In addition, the upcoming phone also sports stereo speakers.
Release date: unknown. Price: unknown. But then again, I doubt Verizon or whoever get to carry the U550 will make a special event out of its launch.
